Eddie Hearn took to Twitter last night to announce that he is leaving the Matchroom room fight bubble 'immediately' following a positive test for Covid-19.
In an interview with IFL TV Hearn said: "Nightmare, nightmare . . . just tested positive for Covid. Basically, every test come back negative and mine came back positive, so gutted really, you know, pleased that everybody else ok, pleased that everybody else has tested negative but unfortunately mine isn't . . . now just driving home getting ready for ten very long days".
"Gutted I'll have to miss the show and the press conference an everything you know, that's what I live for".
"I'm feeling alright within myself, feel like I've got a little bit of a cold I suppose but not had any Covid symptoms, no temperature or loss of taste or smell or cough or anything like that, so . . . you know hopefully that don't come over the next few days, but it is what it is mate, you've got to follow the protocol, take it on the chin, go away . . . get creative over next ten days and then bounce back".
The news comes just days before Joshua Buatsi, makes his first appearance since August of 2019. The unbeaten Buatsi (12-0), a rising star in the light-heavyweight division who is tipped by many as future world champion, takes on Croatia's Marco Calic (11-0).
The stacked card sees Chantelle Cameron (12-0) make a bid for the WBC World super-lightweight title as she takes on Adriana Dos Santos Araujo (6-0) of Brazil, with Allen Babic, John Harding Jr, Aqib Fiaz and Kane Baker also returning to action.
The event starts at 7pm this Sunday 4 October on Sky Sports Arena.
