Kell Brook vs Terrence Crawford fight result: Crawford stops Brook in the fourth round

Terrence Crawford Successfully defends his WBO World title, forcing a stoppage in the fourth round of his Las Vegas bout against Kell Brook

Making the fourth defence of the WBO title that he won from Jeff Horn back in 2018 and retaining his unbeaten record, Terrence 'Bud' Crawford dismantled Kell 'The Special One' Brook in the fourth round, forcing the referee to call a stop to the fight.

Up to that point, Brook had been boxing well behind the jab, but while you could certainly make an argument for giving Kel the first three, anyone who knows anything about Terrence Crawford would have felt that he was merely biding his time before going through the gears.

The end for Brook began at 2:18 of round four, when, looking to throw a straight right hand, he left himself open to a perfectly timed lead right-hand thrown out of the southpaw stance. It was a punch that Brook didn't see coming, and it sent him tumbling back onto the ropes where referee Tony Weeks gave him a count. Brook was allowed to continue, but looked helpless as Crawford pinned him on the the ropes, forcing the ref to come to his aid.

The loss comes as the third of Kel Brooks career, with previous defeats to Gennady Golovkin, and Errol Spence Jr., neither of which dealt with him as easily as did Crawford. His record now stands at 39-3.

For Crawford, the win sees his record move to 37-0, and further cements his claim as the best welterweight on the planet. After the fight, Crawford's Promoter, Bob Arum, said: "Spence and Garcia are fighting December 5 . . . I'd put Terrence Crawford in with both of them one at a time and he'd beat both of them the same night. He is far and away the best welterweight in the world . . . the welterweights around now are not competitive with Terrence Crawford."

For Crawford though, the priority is to secure a fight with Filipino legend, Manny Pacqiauo. Crawford Said: "I'm looking to secure a Pacqiauo fight. We was close to securing a Pacqiauo fight prior to this fight, but being that the Covid was getting out of hand, the fans couldn't attend the fight, so we had to put a halt to it . . . so now we're gonna go back to the drawing board and try to revisit that fight with Manny Pacqiauo."
