Lee Selby vs George Kambosos Jr added to Chisora - Usyk undercard

The Final eliminator for the IBF lightweight title is back on, now featuring on the undercard of Derek Chisora and Oleksandr Usyk's October 31 clash.

For those of you still feeling wronged by the cancellation of this Saturday's IBF title eliminator between Lee Selby and George Kambosos Jr, take comfort in knowing that the fight is back on - again.

First set to take place in May, and rescheduled for Saturday, October 3, the fight will now take place on October 31 featuring on the undercard of Chisora vs Usyk.

The winner puts themselves in the mandatory position to challenge for the IBF lightweight title currently held by Teófimo López. López won the title in December of last year by knocking out Richard Commey and makes his first defence on October 17 when he takes on WBA (Super), WBO, and The Ring champion, Vasyl Lomachenko.

Selby has previously held the IBF featherweight title which he successfully defended five times before losing a split decision to Josh Warrington in May 2019. Since then, after admitting to being drained at the weight, Selby has moved up two weight divisions and has two wins behind him.

Kambosos brings a record of 18-0 with ten knockouts as he bids to earn himself his first world title shot against the winner of López and Lomachenko.

The main event will see Ukrainian former undisputed cruiserweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk make his second appearance at heavyweight as he takes on the battle-hardened Derek Chisora.

Usyk is the mandatory challenger for the WBO title currently held by Anthony Joshua - a position that he expected to lean into should he get past Chisora.

The event is likely to take place behind closed doors with a location yet to be announced. Promoter Eddie Hearn said: "We had hoped we would get people in a venue October 31st. I haven't given that up yet, but it will happen with or without people there."
